Chennai Institute of Technology Director Visits Shimane University to Explore Future Academic Collaboration

Mr. S. Gokulakrishnan, Director of Innovation at Chennai Institute of Technology (CIT), India, visited Shimane University, Japan, on July 29, 2026, as part of ongoing efforts to strengthen academic engagement and explore opportunities for future collaboration between the two institutions.

During the visit, Mr. Gokulakrishnan held a cordial meeting with Prof. Kataoka, Vice President for Promotion of Globalization, and Dr. Noothalapati, Director of the Japan-India Global Education and Research Center. The discussions focused on potential avenues for collaboration in education, research, and student engagement, reflecting the shared commitment of both institutions to advancing international academic partnerships.

                                

As part of his visit, Mr. Gokulakrishnan also met with Prof. Hideo Miura, Vice President for Research on Material Science, to exchange perspectives on emerging research trends and opportunities for institutional cooperation in areas of mutual interest. The visit further included interactions with a few faculty members and students. These discussions provided an opportunity to exchange perspectives on the future of education and research and to explore areas of shared academic interest.

           

        

The visit highlighted the strong relationship between Shimane University and Chennai Institute of Technology and their shared commitment to international academic engagement.

The Japan-India Global Education and Research (JIGER) Center will continue to serve as a platform for fostering meaningful partnerships and promoting positive collaborations between institutions in India and Japan.
