A seminar was held regarding proposals for the LOTUS program promoted by the Japan Science and Technology Agency (JST).
At our university, we established the Japan-India Global Education and Research Center (JIGER) in January 2026 to build a system that supports research exchanges and collaborative research among researchers and graduate students.
As part of this effort, we invited faculty members interested in the JST LOTUS program, that supports collaborative research with India.
The seminar was held in hybrid format and was attended by many professors from both Matsue and Izumo campuses.
JIGER Director, Prof. Hemanth Noothalapati explained the program's overview and key points for preparing a strong application.
Furthermore, the seminar facilitated information sharing and understanding among participants regarding the possibilities of collaboration with Indian research institutions and the future development of research exchanges.
Through this seminar, we expect to promote international collaborative research at our university and strengthen the research network between Japan and India.
