Summer School to India 2026 - information sessions welcomed many students

公開日 2026.06.02

We held information sessions for the summer school scheduled to be held at the Indian Institute of Technology Hyderabad in September 2026.

This summer school is a joint program between the Japan-India Global Education and Research Center (JIGER) and the Indian Institute of Technology Hyderabad, a partner university of Shimane University.

The aim of this program is to broaden students' practical global perspectives through attending classes, engaging in discussions with students and faculty, and interacting with them.

The information sessions were held twice, on May 15th (Friday) and May 22nd (Friday), and many students participated.

During the sessions, Vice President for the Promotion of Globalization, Prof. Kataoka, and the Director of the JIGER Center, Prof. Noothalapati gave opening remarks.

They introduced Shimane University's current active promotion of collaboration with India, the expanding learning opportunities in India for students, and the appeal of focusing on India.

In addition, the outline of the summer school program was explained, covering lectures, Project-Based Learning (PBL), interactions with local students, and company visits, along with details about living conditions and safety in India.

Participating students expressed positive feedback, such as, "I'm anxious about communicating in English in India, but I want to try," and "I'm interested in the opportunity to discuss with Indian students."
This program provides an opportunity to use English for communication and to interact with local students and faculty.

Participation is open to students from all academic fields, and it offers a valuable opportunity for practical learning for anyone interested in international exchange.

If you are even slightly interested, please take this opportunity to participate.

We look forward to your enthusiastic applications.
